2018 COHORT
I was part of the 2018 cohort not long after starting NewtonsCoWo and can only recommend such a course.
The academy has been a fantastic learning and networking experience for myself and my business. I started the academy after a few months of starting a business in Bury town centre and the course gave me a greater understanding of how a business works and how to build a business and not just a job. The networking module was particular memorable because Phil and Debi passed on a lot of their experience of networking, the do’s and don’t which gave me the confidence to start attending several networking events which helped grow my own business. Everyone supported one another in the cohort and everyone supported each other businesses, even now I still recommend business from the group, network with them and have some as customers. The money I invested into the academy I have had back several times and would highly recommend signing up.
The Network
The education side of the course was a great foundation to doing business and highlighted the pitfalls a young business can fall in to.
For me the biggest take away was the network it helped form as a young business, I still pass business to the businesses from the academy now (not just the 2018 cohort). Local companies like Nettl of Bury, Senior Waste, Phenomenal Group and Alpha PR. I met or was introduced to through the academy.
It was great to build a support network and go through the ups and downs of business together.
Chance to do a video
I was able to speak about the course on a video towards the end which helped promote the course but also helped promote the concept of NewtonsCoWo and coworking in Bury. The video is still out there doing the rounds – Made In Bury | NewtonsCoWo Video and included members of Newtons like Chris Murray and Jason Groves doing their own video testimonials.
