Is there parking at Newtons?

There isn't any parking onsite at Newtons, the closest car park is around 70m from our front door, Paradise Mill on John Street. Have a look at our Visit Us page to find out how to get from the car park to Newtons.

Is the space staffed? Can anyone help me?

Newtons is built around individuals and businesses that need a flexible and exciting hub, to do this we built a space that can keep running with a hands off approach, this allows us to be working in the background keeping everything running and growing. With management software and hardware in place; our fantastic website and a library of resource everything you need should be ready to go. Can I hang things on the wall behind my fixed desk?

Yes, if you have a fixed desk we want you to make yourself at home. We define a fixed desk space as the edge of the desk, then back by 1m and 2m up the wall so this space you can make like home. See our Fixed Desk Guide for more details.

What are your opening times?

Can I come in if the front door is shut?

Yes! But you need your KISI app up and running to unlock the door. If you are visiting Newtons for someone in one of the offices use the intercom to get in touch with them. If it's for something else your host should have been in touch to discuss prior.

What's included in the coworking price?

The coworking price covers your time in the space, WiFi, power, some printing and unlimited refreshments from the coworking kitchen. The coffee shop and any printing above the coworking allowance is chargeable.

What can I eat and drink?

If you are coworking or having a meeting or attending an event at Newtons you will have access to the open, shared kitchen at the centre of the building. Help yourself to anything you want in this space. All we ask is that you keep it nice and tidy for everyone else. The dishwasher can be filled during the day, it's just next to the sink.

How do I complain?

If you have a complaint we want to know as soon as possible, cut through everything and email hello@newtonscowo.com directly so we can promptly action this.

What can I do with my equipment?

Your items, laptops and equipment are super important and need to be kept safe. Although, the space is safe and we try really hard to keep it that way we never recommended leaving equipment or personal items out loose in the space or overnight. You should keep them on your person or store them securely. We can't take any responsibility for any items, equipment, clothes or other items left onsite.

My employer wants a risk assessment, where do I find it?

As Newtons has developed we have found more members, typically a member's employer requires specific policies for their documentation. All our policies are available as shared documents from this page - Newtons Policies

HOW TO COWORK

For the coworking space it's straight forward.

Firstly are you a fixed desk (you take a desk permanently and its just yours) or hot desk (you sit at the desk today but maybe not tomorrow?)

Hot Desking

Find yourself an unoccupied desk in The Coach House, a fixed desks that belongs to someone will look occupied, computer screens, photos etc. Any white solid door is someone's private office - don't go here.

Set yourself up, get your beverage from the kitchen and get things done! You'll find the WiFi passwords dotted around. Make full use of the plug sockets and the kitchen to keep you up and running.

Fixed Desks

Fixed desks are when that desks becomes your very own space, no one else uses that desk and its pretty much an office, just without walls. Fixed desk allow you to make yourself truly at home in the space and customise as you need. See our Fixed Desk page for more information.

Welcoming Guests

If you are expecting guests at Newtons you can welcome them in different ways. The space runs in a self-sufficient manner, so there are no staff in the space, to make sure your guests know what to do when they arrive please arrange one of the following options.

Meet Them

You may need to meet your guests at the front of Newtons because the front doors of Newtons are locked. Remember to let them know what to do.

Other Things to Know

For security and safety reasons, we ask that doors are not wedged open.
