This is the second time Dale and Matthew join hundreds of runners for the Bury 10K “it’s great to meet at Newtons, warm up outside the shop and then join the waiting crowd for the run”
This year was even better because Salford Roasters had set up the coffee counter on the street outside Newtons to serve their speciality coffee in the fresh air right next to that the Newtons iconic giant chair for the first time in years.
We open the space up to anyone needing last-minute toilet break and somewhere to shelter from the weather. We love it when people who normally may not come into the space take a chance to pop in and remember the place full of furniture! “We bought a piece of furniture from Newtons 20 years ago. We still have it” is a fantastic phrase we hear all the time and love!
The Bury 10K is a great run – 10K is a good distance, it presents a challenge to most and yet can be achieved by most as well! The support for the run and along the route is growing and it’s great to see other organisations along the route get behind the run!
Will you be joining us next year?
